Opdracht
Rotterdam wordt duurzamer, en de straten gaan hun steentje bijdragen. De Straat van de Toekomst wordt een expo van bestaande en nieuwe duurzame oplossingen, waarin de gebruiker centraal staat. Het gaat om het ervaren en leren van duurzaamheid, en hoe dit bijdraagt aan een aantrekkelijke en gezonde woon- en werkomgeving.

Resultaten

“Creating a platform to inspire collaboration and communicate sustainable solutions in a sustainable street called the Street of the Future.”

The Street of the Future is a project from the Rotterdam Public Works Department about creating sustainable public outdoor space. In my contribution to the project I explored how the sustainable innovations in the Street of the Future can communicate or be communicated to its users and with that increase its sustainability.

The final concept is a software application for web and mobile.It basically functions as a platform to exchange information between users of a street, urban planners and companies. The residents are informed in the initiation phase of the project and can use the app to get informed and involved in the process.The app is a tool for urban planners to be used in their design process to stimulate Participation. At the same time it educates people about sustainable solutions for the outdoor space by showing solutions submitted by companies.
